Americans are actually fairly unique as far as taking vacations goes. When most people in the world take a vacation, they may end up going for a month or more. For starters, many Americans assume that if they leave their office for any great duration, they will come back to find that they no longer have a job. Almost no one gets downsized when they can actually afford it. However, considering how understaffed most American companies are these days, it stands to reason that the average person won’t be let go during this time. However, one needs to mentally shift away from this fear to be able to enjoy their vacation.
